I already posted a picture of my HW-9. Also use this little guy on occasion. 2C26FB03-EA1D-487A-BD12-C79B7ECEF91A.jpeg

Thanks Lane! I’ll never part with the 2B, it’s my favorite for cw. Been rock collecting for about 20 years, mostly from EBay. I run the tx thru a hefty bandpass filter to stay on the safe side.

Beautiful. I like the Hi-Mound too. Reminds me of my novice days back in the mid '60s. I had a 3 tube TX (6146 final) with the tubes, xtal, and black enclosed transformer all sitting on top of chassis like yours, but a little bigger, complete with period correct Dymo labels.

Thanks Louis! It works well for what it is and no chirp if tuned by listening on the 2B and not trying to get full power out.
    Any pictures of your tx?

The Hi-Mound has turned into my favorite straight key.

Disconnected the antenna's (40m doublet running N/S and 20m doublet running E/W) from my IC-7300/LDG 100ProII and hooked them to my new KX3 via a 2 position antenna switch. Not strictly QRP because I've run from 8w to 15w to get FT8 contacts in Europe, but ............. not bad for a couple home made antennas in my attic and a 15w max radio. ;)

Usually, I run the IC-7300 on FT8 at 10w-12w with the occasional bump to 15w if things are crazy. Mostly I just jump around the FT8 allocation trying to find the open slots.

Then of course there was the IOTA activation of NA-039 Adak at 8W on a 20m dipole with my mcHF last month.................. :D
