Malachit" SDR receiver, anyone have any experience with the original or more to my interest,
    the Chinese clone(s)??

This link has info on the Russian design itself.

The Chicoms have an assorted range of prices and packages for what they offer.
The cheapest ones seem to be a reasonable and fast way to get a portable radio WITH a spectrum display,
useful for many things, including finding digital noise... might suffice for other uses as well.

PS. searched here and found no mention!

I decided to order the original one. This way I will get fully functional software, well built hardware and support from the original developer.
Georgiy RX9CIM responds to emails very promptly. Waiting time is around 2 months.
Here is another thread about the receiver: https://forums.qrz.com/index.php?threads/sdr-reciever-malahit-dsp.663714/

I recommend against buying a Chinese clone.

    Took a chance.
    Bought from USA based vendor.
Worst case will get my money back.

Best case it will do what I need it for - mostly hanging off a 455kHz IF output... we shall see!

To each their own, I rather support the original developers.

I don't have one but my buddy does. He loves it. He sent me some videos of it operating and I was impressed.
He had tuned into a station 40 meter SSB with the Malachit and his FTDX-9000 and was showing me how well the NR worked on the Malachit.
The FTdx-9000 NR could not do what the Malachit did.
Only issue he has found is this. If he tunes into 7.240.00 on his Yaesu the same station shows up on Malachit at 7.240.200.

I have seen two versions, 50khz-200mhz and 50khz-2000mhz
It appears that the 2000mhz version has a gap from 250-400 mhz? Is that true or has there been any updates to fill that in?
