VOACAP and its secondary users are predictors that are helpful but often wrong.

DXMaps and dxsummit.fi are fun for seeing actual recent QSOs (and reception by skimmers) by band.

www.bandconditions.com comes as close to realtime conditions as I've found, and is a simple display so I know when to go out to the shack without delay.

I like bandconditions.com as well. But just because the conditions are good doesn't mean there is anyone talking on the band.

When the conditions are good get out there and call CQ/CQ DX. If we all did that more the band would get busy. I know lots of people scan around the band, either with the knob or the panadapter/waterfall, and they move on to the next band if they don't see much.

This doesn't mean they couldn't be having some great QSOs right then! It takes at least one party calling CQ, and that doesn't always have to be the guy getting by the pileup hammered in some foreign country. It could be you if you call CQ.

Thanks Steve for introducing me to www.bandconditions.com; I love it!!

Been using VOACAPs for 1.5 years now but the predictions for 15,12, and 10 are not corresponding to the poor real life conditions we have been having.

    73 Steve and Merry Christmas,

I have recently installed HamCap and am very impressed with the software.
However, I am frustrated by the failure to enlarge and maximise the HamCap window to fill the screen.
Please advise how I can do this.
    Thanks in advance.

Unfortunately, there is no way to do this in the software.... the only way I can think of is to take a screenshot (by pressing the Prnt Scrn button), paste the screenshot into paint, and then you can zoom into the screenshot so you can see the image on Ham Cap better. I'm glad you are enjoying the software! I really love it but, like you, do wish you could maximize the window.

    I hope this helps!
