Muscle Shoals, Alabama. June 5, 2001: MFJ and Creative Services Software announced today that MultiComm Host for Multimode 1.5P, a 32-bit host mode program for the MFJ-1278 TNCs has been released. The program takes advantage of the advanced features of Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows Me, Windows NT, and Windows 2000. MultiComm Host/Multimode uses the TNC’s ‘BLP’ host mode for Packet communications and terminal mode for the HF and SSTV mode. Its MFJ part number is MFJ-1289H.



Company President Rick Ruhl, W4PC, said, “BLP Host Mode was created by Howard Goldstein, N2WX, in 1991. According to the MFJ technical staff, we are the first company in the 10 years it has existed to successfully interface to BLP Host Mode. This 32-bit version also supports PSK-31 by using the sound card for the PSK-31 audio and the TNC for the keying circuit. While this version is considered a Preview version, all functionality except for robot CQ and SSTV transmit is implemented and has been tested thoroughly in house, by the MFJ staff and our fine beta team in the field”



Product features include: Each stream has its own window and transmit buffer, support for the major callbooks on CD, user configurable colors and fonts, a ‘bottomless’ receive window, automated connections, binary file transfer, runs true 32 bit multitasking and multithreading and is easy to use with online help at your fingertips. All of the MFJ-1278’s HF modes are supported including SSTV and PSK-31. It includes CSS’s ‘Auto logging’ technology which allows you to log contacts directly from the program to CSS’s own Log Windows or DXBase 2002.
