Hi all does any one know the cables that go to the power socket on a ICOM ic-271e . The obvious being red and black the red to the right then black then red and below that there's another pin that I would think should be black ? but is a orange one . And i need to make a plug to power it up many thanks Phillip GW4ROV

Just a guest, but the "orunj" wire may be for connection to the memory, and keep power (@ a very low current draw) even when the auto power is "OFF ." Red is usually Positive, Black Negative @12-13.8 Volts. Check the manual to be SURE, but if you are using the radio in a fixed station, the two can be tied together; or in most cases, just ignored. But follow the wiring in the owner's manual to be SURE. YMMV.
