The FRANKENTENNA!! Have you ever got out to the park and left a piece of gear at home? Have you ever broken a piece of gear and had to make do with the parts you have left? Yea me too! Today I decided to throw some parts together from several different antenna systems to see if it POTA’s. I used the shock cord legs, the Versa-Hub, counterpoise and two antenna arms from my Buddistick Pro kit, the "Silver bullet Mini coil" from my Wolf River Coil SOTA kit and the man pack shock cord whip together as one system. I rolled out the counterpoise to the 20m mark, then adjusted the coil to get a 1.5 SWR on 20m. After operating around an hour I had 70 contacts in the log and deemed the activation a SUCCESS! Sometimes, we just have to use what we have to do the best we can. Here is the Video of the Activation:
