What do you plan on doing after you upgrade to general? That will determine which radio you should buy.

Hiram Percy Maxim's QSL card had "73's" on it, hihi!

In college, I had a girlfriend, we were even pinned for a while, who, after we broke up for the final time, eventually got an amateur radio operator's license. After I was married, she would telephone, several times a week. If my wife answered the telephone, the girl would hang up. If I answered the telephone, she would start to plead with me to take her back! Of course, I would hang up.

Several years after moving to the Dallas, Texas, area, she showed up where a friend of mine was working looking for me! I got a notice, not that long ago, from a high school alumni site, that she was looking for me! This after almost 54-years!

How about that for a wrong topic reply!

On the amateur radio side: When she was in high school, my youngest daughter dated the son of another amateur radio operator. They decided to get their Novice Class licenses. So, my daughter actually learned the International Morse code. However, she "broke up" with the boyfriend and never went ahead and got her license. But, today, 25-years later, she still knows the code! Her speed is lacking, but she still knows the letters, numbers, and punctuation marks!
