    Dawes Arboretum.....

This is the Japanese Garden. The park is open to the public but is a private foundation completely endowed in the 1920's by the Dawes family, of the Pure Oil Company. One of the family was Vice President of the US in the 1920's.

The 1100+ acre park is a pure gem and contains the northernmost Cypress Swamp in North America, just as one example. Ham interest? Well, it's free admission!

Seriously, if you are traveling through Ohio, to say, the 2017 Hamvention (and I hope you do) if coming from three land you will likely pass within eight minutes of this park on I-70, which is on the outskirts of Newark, and less than an hour east of Columbus.

I know that this a shameless plug, but the place is unique, and even a brief visit will not be regretted.

Why do we call children "harmonics"? Wouldn't it be more accurate to call them "heterodynes"?

    Think about it.

Here's one that "we" took yesterday at the Experience Music Project in Seattle. Kind of fuzzy, but cool because the image was taken by the "robot" space ship that we were on and transported thru hyper space to earth for analysis.

We were about 7.8 light years away. Amazing that we got back so soon!

A bee stung my wife today and she didn't believe me when I told her it was a
yellow jacket. She thought it was a honey bee and wanted a photo so she could look it up. Yep, it was a yellow jacket - they're just plain mean.

They also hassle the birds for nectar.
