    How many scoville units?

As a ex-pepper breeder/botanist, horticulturalist, and farmer, I kind of got familiar with peppers and applications of hot sauce. Most 'super' hot sauces made for humans are around .5-1 million units or so. Police pepper spray and the real bear stuff are typically around 1 to 5 Million units, about what you'd find in the super hot peppers (e.g. Dragons, Pepper "X", Carolina Reapers,...some folks eat those). I have seen squirrels eat peppers that are in the 1-2M units range without issue when the forest mast in weak and other foods are physically inaccessible. That tends to say that hot sauce may not always work as a repellant...

Venturing into the world of hot sauce production taught me a few things. Straight up, 100% pure capsaicin (...the "hot" component found in peppers) might; it's around 16 million units. There are issues dealing with it at that level however; I'd rather play with a good fast acting, nerve agent like VX then that would be safer. :) :)

I still think giving naughty squirrels a taste of suborbital space travel is the way to go--as long as they don't splat into a passing or parked car in front of the house.

Then again, they may like it.

The ending of T's 1812 Overture would have made for better music.

Never had any luck with hot pepper sauce, even that specifically intended to act as a repellant. Positioning the feeders away from everything else and a good baffle were the only things that kept the squirrels at bay.

As was the beaver shot, this bobcat was also shot by my son with his iPhone. Seems like these ONF critters are just curious, so they climb the tree so they can look into our west kitchen window.

That's not a bobcat. Large feral cat maybe, but several features are wrong for a bobcat, not the least of which is that it's tail isn't bobbed. Pretty cat, nonetheless.
