I have a Baofeng F8HP HT with it's supplied rubber duck, and now a magnet mount 1/4 wave for the car. The HT and antennas all use SMA connectors. I'd like to put in SMT - BNC adapters to make switching antennas easier and save the wear and tear on the SMA connectors but not sure they won't unduly detune the rubber duck. Does anyone have experience with this?

I have one for testing and in my kit of adapters to use with my antenna analyzer for building HT antennas.
    Good luck.

Experience ? Yes. You can use adapters for the stated purposes without fear of adversely affecting operation of the HT. The match with the rubber duck isn't that great to begin with. 73
