Portable repeater, what to use?

    So what happens when the repeater identifies or somebody kerchunks it and now your 8800 is transmitting that back to your HT? Another station cant identify your CBR as they are not in control of it. You gonna id every 10 mins no matter what?

    Not exactly true. In years past, when a repeater did not have an automatic identifier, it was perfectly legal for a user to identify both themselves and the repeater by saying something like, "WX5XXX through WX5XXY repeater".

    So by "X-Band", do you mean 10 GHz? Because I was unaware *anyone* had a 10 gig HT.

    No, the "X" meant "cross." X-band = crossband, in repeater terms.

    Although a 10 GHz repeater would be pretty cool.
