Ok--so basically if I don't have an ICOM D-star rig, then this isn't for me?

I happen to have the 706 and 7200--neither of which have D-Star on them, and I don't know if I can ever add it (doubtful I think).

I figure somebody, somewhere has done some mod to hardware open source to get on the D-Star systems--illegal as heck, but I figure somebody probably did.

not unless you want to. But there is legitimate ways with a dongle to get on dstar and listen as well. But that's if you want to. Its another method and area open radio wise :)

I have a DV Adapter that will make any radio with a 9600bd packet port do DSTAR that I would sell if you are interested. Contact me directly if interested.
