Sad to hear about Pete. He was enjoying his retirement from AMETEK. He unfortunately dropped his ARRL membership after he stepped down as Section Manager.

    Peter A. Cecere, N2YJZ SK

    Peter Anthony Cecere, III
    March 29, 1953 — January 1, 2022

Peter Cecere, III passed away on January 1, 2022 at the age of 68. Peter was a resident of Woodstock and the Hudson Valley for many years. As radio amateur N2YJZ, he was the Eastern NY Section Manager for 17 years, in addition to many other positions in the Ham Radio community. Peter was also a member of the Woodstock Fire and Rescue Department and an experienced EMT. As an EMT he even had the rare opportunity of delivering a baby and earning the treasured Pelican Badge.
Peter truly lived his passions for life. Music was always deeply important to Peter and he played many instruments since a young teen. A roady and then a band leader, there was always an instrument nearby and always time for a jam session. Peter treasured nature and has hiked, biked, and kayaked all throughout the Hudson Valley region and beyond. Peter was also a very warm-hearted and generous person to his friends and also to others in times of need, often without any acknowledgment.
Peter is predeceased by his father Peter Cecere II and survived by his mother Mildred Cecere and 3 siblings, Laura, Michael(Maria Barra), and Melissa and 4 nieces and nephews and a great niece and nephew. Peter was a very warm and gentle soul and will be remembered fondly by many people who have ever crossed his path. When you find yourself close to nature, you will be close to Peter too.
