Pete de Volpi K3PD SK

PVRC member Pete De Volpi, K3PD, ex-KC3TL died today at age 62. He had undergone emergency surgery to remove a cancerous brain tumor this week. Funeral arrangements are incomplete

Pete held leadership posts in the Harrisburg club including stints as President, Bulletin Editor, etc, and helped organize a number of hamfests in the Eastern PA section over the years. He was very active on the air and had activated a number of special operations over the years. He served as QSL manager for a number of DX stations including Z22JE and TA3DD. PVRC member Irv McWherter,K3IRV picked up most of these and PVRC Member Steve Jarrett has become the manager of FM5WE. Pete was very involved in getting youth into ham radio, including his own son W3GOP. He gave back to the hobby a lot more than he got from it. His activism will be missed, particularly in the Harrisburg area. (TNX K3ZO).
