Perry A Foster, K6XJ SK 10-10 Number: 41545 QCWA Number: 32095 Perry "Bud" Foster April 10, 1938 – February 14, 2025 IN THE CARE OF Boice Funeral Home Perry "Bud" Foster, age 86, of Clovis, California entered into rest on Friday, February 14, 2025. Bud's early years were spent in Santa Paula, California, where he attended McKevett Elementary, Isbell Junior High School, and Santa Paula High School. He later pursued higher education at Fresno State College, setting the foundation for a lifelong commitment to learning and mentorship. A devoted educator, Bud dedicated his career to Fresno Unified School District as a junior high adaptive physical education teacher before serving as a teacher and counselor at McLane High School. His impact on students was profound, as he guided and encouraged countless young minds throughout his tenure. Beyond his professional life, Bud proudly served for two years in the United States Army. His sense of duty and service extended into all aspects of his life, shaping the man he became. Bud had a deep love for adventure and the outdoors. He was an avid ham radio operator (K6XJ) and a skilled pilot who found joy in soaring through the skies. He also enjoyed golf, baseball, football, fishing, hunting, and backpacking--activities that brought him both peace and camaraderie with those he cherished. Above all else, Bud was a family man. He was the beloved husband of Joan Foster and a devoted father to Tami Wilde (husband Jim) and Wendi Dorrell (husband Randy). His grandchildren--Lea Meine, Lyndi Souza, Laurynn Pryor, Joshua Dorrell and Cara Lovero--held a special place in his heart. He was also blessed with great-grandchildren Perrie, Jonah, and Toby Meine; Brody and Ellie Souza; Hayden Pryor; Maesyn and Marley Dorrell; Hinley, Dawsyn and soon-to-be baby girl Lovero. Bud was preceded in death by his parents Perry and Nina Foster and his sister Barbara Evans. Known for his wisdom, humor, kindness, and ability to fix just about anything, Bud was a soft-hearted man who adored children and took immense pride in being a grandpa. He deeply loved his family and friends and because of his enduring passion for ham radio--this hobby connected him with people near and far. Bud's legacy is one of love, laughter, guidance, and adventure. His memory will live on in the hearts of those that knew him. A Graveside Service for Bud will be held Wednesday, March 5, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at Clovis Cemetery, 305 North Villa Avenue, Clovis, California 93612.
