    Hi...I have an ....analogue wattmeter that I would like to build a simple peak hold circuit for.
    It needs to be fairly simple, perhaps using some type of Op amp.
    I can't find any kits as such here in the UK....
    If anyone could supply plans / circuit diagram I'd be really grateful.

    Years ago, I built a few peak-reading adapters for "orphaned" Bird line sections using the Microchip MCP6042 dual micropower OP-amp which has a supply current of about 0.5 µA per amplifier in the idle state.


    The design goal was to have an adapter that had a current draw in the same order as the self-discharge of alkaline batteries, and which could drive 200 µA and 1 mA FSD meters equipped with suitable scales. With a suitable choice of R5 and R6 meters of widely varying FSD can be accommodated.
