(translated text) On 12 December 2025, Leon Kusters PA1LK, formerly known as PA3DOS, passed away a few days before his 89th birthday. Leon was active in VERON for a long time. From 23 April 1983 to 5 October 2013, he was a member of our PR Committee, serving as its chairman for 18 years. After stepping down as a member of the committee, he remained involved for several more years. From 1984 to 2003, Leon was also a member of the Executive Committee, serving as general vice-chairman for five years (1995-2000). That's not all, because he was also a member of the Events Committee for many years, as well as the working group now known as the Government Consultation Working Group (WOO) and the former Radio & Computer Committee. The 2003 General Meeting rightly appointed him a Member of Merit. A condition that developed later in his life did not make things easy for him, but Leon was a cheerful person and a go-getter, with a good sense of humour. I personally knew Leon from the start of his activities for VERON, also as a radio amateur during a contest activity, and I have fond memories of our collaboration.
