All this logbook client-side software is the wrong way to build an electronic-formatted logging method. First, client-software will constantly have to be updated as new operating systems are released. Second, they will almost always exclude all users that do not run mainline Windows or Mac operating systems, such as Linux variants or mobile operating systems. Third, the logs are decentralized and not easily collectable. I recommend that projects such as Trusted QSL and others make an online logbook software that runs on a webserver. The system would allow database entry and export and maintain authenticity. All three current issues with client-side logbook software would be solve with this method.
