    Why not?

    I've been trackside when an Acela goes by at even higher speeds. Fryin' chickens in the barnyard!

    And then there's the TGV:



    574.8 km/hr is 357.1 mph.

    You aren't as likely to hit a cow on the protected TGV track. I couldn't believe the Mallard was going 120 mph through SWITCHYARDS!

    It wasn't.

    Those are interlockings, not yards. The track and switches were good for the speed.
