    I used to be able to pound a straight key all day long but the older I get the more I have to agree that I prefer my el cheapo bencher paddles.:D

    Some of my old rigs require an external keyer so if I'm just going to make a couple of short contacts just for fun I still use the straight key rather than digging out the keyer. I really do prefer my Navy key over a J-38, I had a Ney Viking master key that I liked but it got lost in the shuffle of time. Once I got the J-5 set up it had a nice feel, as good as any key I have ever owned, better than most.
