I’m trying to find a copy of my old Technician license issued somewhere between 1979 an 1983. I was 12 or so and if I understand correctly, passing Element 2 Now and having been issued a Technician Lic pre March 21st 1987 would give me credit for Element 3.
I tried the FCC and no dice. They couldn’t find my old Lic or FRN #
They said check here and AARL (which I did)

    thanks in advance

Hi Simon, I think the best way would be to visit ARCHIVE.ORG who has a very nice collection of RADIO AMATEUR CALLBOOKS scanned, on-line, searchable, and best of all FREE for the lookin'!

What was the callsign back then?

I believe publication in the callbook is 'qualified' as proof.

    OK, similar question.

I was just contacted by a friend, now in TX, who has a co-worker, ex WB3BUE, who wants to get relicensed. Looking at the data on AE7Q's site, he definitely qualifies as a pre-21 March 1987 Tech (last license renewal was in 1986).

For a long time, the 1993 QRZ CD ROM was available on this site for lookups. I don't see a link to it any longer. Is it no longer available? If it is, where is the link?

    On Edit:

    Disregard! Found it: https://www.qrz.com/search1993.html

Don't know why the link is no longer shown anywhere, but it's still there.

Details for anyone still needing to prove that they've qualified for the 'upgrade' to General can be found here:

    And here
