container from Djibouti to Guinea." Currently there are no other details

3Y0 BOUVET ISLAND DXPEDITION NEWS (Update). WOW!!! Earlier in the week
who would of thought that we would see "3" (yes three!!) Bouvet DXpeditions
being planned for the next three years (2021/2022/2023). However, this
all changed by August 12th, with one team canceling their plans for 2023
    (see 2023 below).
For the DX community, this is still great news to have two planned DX-
peditions to Bouvet Island (DXCC's second most wanted entity) to take
place during the next two years. Here is the current breakdown (as we
know so far), by year, on the upcoming Bouvet Island operations:
2021 -- The Rebel DX Group is still reporting that they will be active
this year from Bouvet Island (AN-002) as 3Y0I. The group's leader
Dom, 3Z9DX, states that the team will make a second DXpedition
attempt to Bouvet Island sometime in late 2021. The group's first
attempt failed in March 2019 due to unrepairable damage to the
ship's communication equipment. Currently, details about their
planned operation is very quiet and not publicized. Their Web
pages, FaceBook Pages and Twitter page are still active at
    (some not updated): https://bouvetoya.org

    2022 -- The 3Y0J Group has announced on August 8th, that Kenneth/LA7GIA
    (Co-Leader), Rune/LA7THA (Co-Leader) and Erwann/LB1QI (Co-Leader)
have found a vessal with a proven track record and experienced
polar crew that will take them to Bouvet in November 2022. The
    vessel is MARAMA: https://maramaexpeditions.com/en/sailboat-marama
They have assembled a team of 12 operators and plan to spend 20
days around Bouvet. The QTH at Bouvetøya (Bouvet) will be "Cape
Fie" at the South East part of the island, the only feasible part
where a DXpedition can safely setup the camp on rocky ground.
They will not set camp on the glacier. Current list of operators
    are: Kenneth/LA7GIA, Rune/LA7THA, Erwann/LB1QI, Gjermund/LB5GI,
    Adrian/KO8SCA, Laci/HA0NAR, Dima/RA9USU, Bill/KO7SS (Physician),
    Sandro/VE7NY, Axel/DL6KVA, Mike/AB5EB (Physician) and one other
to be announced. Activity will be on 160-10 meters, including
60/30/17/12m, using CW, SSB, RTTY and FT8/FT4. Frequencies are
posted on their Web page. QSL via M0OXO, direct, OQRS (direct/
Bureau) or LoTW. Do NOT request via the normal Bureau card
services as these will NOT be answered. Only use the OQRS online
service. Option for free bureau cards will be activated at the
end when all other cards have been sent out. The team is looking
for funding. Sponsors who donate 50 USDs or more PRIOR to the
DXpedition start will have their QSL card sent directly, as
well as LoTW confirmation. There is no need to do anything if
you are a sponsor of the DXpedition. The timing of the QSL
cards and LoTW will be processed according to Sponsor level.
For more details and updates, watch: https://www.3y0j.no
Kenneth, LA7GIA, reports on August 11th: We're happy to
announce that InnovAntenna and WIMO have renewed their sponsor-
ship for 3Y0J and will supply us with all the Yagis. Thank you!
We will have several tribanders on 20-15-10, several dual
banders on 17-12 and a monobander on 20m.
They will start manufacturing a unique Yagi specifically
designed for Bouvet - it wil be named "DXR-3 Bouvet" and will
be available for sale to all DXers! We're proud of having a
yagi connected to our DXpedition! Let's make it happen!

2023 -- The Intrepid-DX Group announced on August 3rd that their DX-
pedition to Bouvet Island was back on and that they have found
a suitable/affordable vessel willing to take them to Bouvet.
However, this all changed by August 12th. Paul, N6PSE, sent
out the following on that date [edited]: Dear DX Community,
We now find ourselves the #3 team in line to go to Bouvet.
This recent development is not comfortable for us so we are
now re-examining the Top Ten most wanted DXCC entities with a
plan to redirect our efforts to an activation that will be most
    beneficial for everyone.
We are now closing our plans to visit Bouvet, however we
plan to activate a different rare and much needed entity in
January/February 2023. That is now our focus.
Watch for more updates on this exciting new project.
We wish our former 3Y0J Teammates a safe and productive
    journey to Bouvet.

    Thank you,
    The Intrepid-DX Group

ARRL NEWS ALERT (Following Earthquake in Haiti, Radio Amateurs Asked to
Keep Frequencies Clear). In a statement received by ARRL on August 14, 2021,
Region 2 of the International Amateur Radio Union (IARU-R2) has requested
that radio amateurs in the Americas keep the following frequencies clear
to support emergency communications in Haiti following an earthquake this
morning: 3750 kHz, 7150 kHz and 14330 kHz. The statement came from IARU-R2
Emergency Coordinator (EMCOR) Carlos Alberto Santamaría González, CO2JC.
According to preliminary information from the United States Geological
Survey (USGS), a 7.2 magnitude earthquake struck Haiti on August 14, 2021,
at 1229 UTC, about 12 kilometers northeast of Saint-Louis-du-Sud and 33
kilometers to the east-northeast of Les Cayes, Haiti; 18.352 degrees north
and 73.4801 degrees west at a depth of 10 km.
Mr. Jean-Robert Gaillard, HH2JR, President of the Radio Club of Haiti,
    reported significant structural damage.
International news reports fear high casualties.

    C6, BAHAMAS. Richard, NN2T (C6AHB), is reporting on QRZ.com that a "New
Bimini DXpedition" (NA-048) will take place between October 27th and
November 3rd. Activity will be before and after the CQWW DX SSB Contest
(October 30-31st). If you are interested in joining the team, contact
    Richard at: Richard@NN2T.com

CB7, CHILE (LH Op). Look for station CB7C from Punta Corona Lighthouse
    (ARLHS CHI-013, ILLW CL0020, WLOTA LH-0750, WW Loc. FE38BF, IOTA SA-018)
in the Los Lagos Region to be on the air between August 20-22nd. Activity
will be on all bands using SSB, C4FM and FT-8. QSL Manager is CE6TTL. QSL
via direct, eQSL or LoTW. For more details, see QRZ.com.

E5, SOUTH COOK ISLANDS. Pete, ZL4TE, is expected to be active as E51RMP
from South Cook Islands sometime in October. Activity will be holiday
style on QRP on various HF bands and some VHF Digimodes using CW and SSB
with a Yaesu FT817. QSL via his home callsign.

EM30, UKRAINE (Special Event). Look for special event station EM30LUA
to be active to commemorate the 30th anniversary of Ukraine's Independence.
QSL via UR6LF. QSOs are good towards the "UKRAINA-30" award. For details,
    see: http://uarl.com.ua

HB0, LIECHTENSTEIN. Fred/DL5YM and his XYL Tina/DL5YL will once again be
active as HB0/DL5YM and HB0/DL5YL, respectively, from Masescha (Chalet
Wanni) between September 5-28th. Activity is usually limited because they
will be hiking during the daytime hours. Operations will be on 160-6
meters using mostly CW, with some SSB and RTTY. Watch for some activity
in the CQWW DX RTTY Contest (September 25-26th). QSL via their home call-
signs, direct, by the DARC Bureau or ClubLog.

    HK0, SAN ANDREAS ISLAND (Update/QRT). Pedro, HK3X (ex-HK3JJH), informed
OPDX that he was going QRT on August 9th (the day after last week's bul-
letin went out). So, HK0/HK3X is now QRT. Later in the week, he wrote to
    us again with a wrap-up report [translated/edited]: "I was on a short
expedition in San Andres Islands with my equipment to operate FT8 only.
The propagation was poor, but I managed to do about 1000 QSOs which will
be QSLed by my friend JH1AJT. The island is IOTA NA-033, and I have oper-
ated with my new callsign HK3X portable HK0 which is allowed within Co-
lombia saying the area where it is located (from 0 to 9). My equipment
has a Icom IC-7300 w/100W and dipole antennas for the different bands.
Due to my age (84 years old) I am no longer in the same conditions as I
was before and you must remember, in many islands of the Caribbean and
the Pacific we have confirmed with paper QSL as it was done before. I
was staying in a village house (not on a beach or tent) and my home-made
dipoles worked quite well. The Grid Loc. EK92dx. Very little FT8 has
been activated from this island, and I wanted to help those who needed
this new QSO." QSL via JH1AJT.

ILLW 2021 (Reminder). The 24th International Lighthouse Lightship Weekend
(ILLW) will takes place between 0001z, August 21st and 2400z, August 22nd.
As of August 13th, there are 291 registered Lighthouse/Lightship stations
    listed at: https://illw.net/index.php/entrants-list-2021
For more details about this year's event, see: https://illw.net/
