2018 DX SOUND BITES! Tom, K8CX, has done it again. He has provided DXers
with 118 memorable rare DX sound clips (now in MP3 format) from Ohio during
2018. Visit Tom's famous "HAM GALLERY" Web site at:
    http://hamgallery.com/dx2018
While there, also check out some of the other features on his Web page,
such as: 21 years of "Rare DX Sound Clips" of the past (as well as some
clips from the 1960's and 1970's which includes all the major DXpeditions
and rare DX heard on the bands), QSL Card Museum, Dayton Photo Galleries
and Tribute to Silent Key Ham Operators. Tom states, "If anyone has any
old HF recordings, I would be interested in hearing from them." (especially
sound clips pre-1998 to add to the site) His E-mail address is:

3Y0I BOUVET DXPEDITION NEWS. On January 2nd, the 3Y0I team posted
another update with pictures on the Rebel DX Group Web site at:
    https://www.rebeldxgroup.com/meet-the-atlantic-tuna
In this update, the 3Y0I team announced that the name of their ship
to be used is called the "Atlantic Tuna", and also wished everyone a
Happy New Year. They mention that the "Atlantic Tuna" is currently "being
refurbished from its very bottom to its top, meaning not only reconditioning
of its hull but also any of the equipment installed onboard. All navigation,
communication and engine systems are brand new, meeting the most demanding
technical and safety requirements. Getting the ship ready is a time and
money consuming process that requires a lot of patience and flexibility
from us." They also state "with the holidays season over in South Africa,
they hope things will start to accelerate in terms of their ship pre-
parations. To read more, go to the above Web page.
No other details to report, other than that there were still a few
3Y0I pirates active recently. Departure dates are still not known. It
    is still a mystery...
Remember, it takes 12 days to get to Bouvet from South Africa, and they
plan to stay on the island for at least 2 weeks, if the weather cooperates.
The 3Y0I DXpedition's band plan frequencies (160-6m) and modes (CW/SSB/
FT8) can be found at: https://www.rebeldxgroup.com

BLOCKED/BOUNCED OPDX BULLETINS (Update). Some 800 OPDX Bulletins were
BLOCKED/BOUNCED last week. Again, the majority of the bounces/blockings
are from the following ISPs: COMCAST, COX and GMAIL. We are not totally
sure why this continues to happen, but if your ISP blocked the OPDX
Bulletin, please send a complaint to your ISP.
We were informed that if you use one of the above ISPs there is a way
to stop the blocking. If you are an ARRL member, try using their mail
    forwarding service (see <http://www.arrl.org/member-support>). This
service will pass the bulletin through to your ISP.
If you did not receive the bulletin, there are other ways to receive
it. The bulletin is posted every week at the following URLs:
The OPDX (Mailing List) Archives: http://hamnet.org/pipermail/opdx
The OPDX Web page (provided by John, K8YSE): http://papays.com/opdx.html

The weekly bulletin (issue #) is also posted (for the above URLs)
    on FaceBook <https://www.facebook.com/NorthernOhioDxAssociation/> and
Twitter <https://twitter.com/kb8nw_opdx>. Let's hope this problem will
clear up. Thanks for your understanding..... 73 de Tedd KB8NW
