    3Y0I BOUVET DXPEDITION NEWS. This past week the Rebel DX Group announced
    their 3Y0I band plan – frequencies and modes they will use while operating
    from Bouvet Island. The information can be found at:

    4S, SIR LANKA. Peter, DC0KK, will once again be active as 4S7KKG from
    Moragalla, Sri Lanka (AS-003, WLOTA 0762) between November 1st and April
    1st. He states that he preferably likes to be active on the Digital modes
    and CW. QSL via his home callsign, direct and by the Bureau. All QSOs
    will be uploaded to LoTW and ClubLog.

    5W, SAMOA. Steve, WB2IQU, will be active as 5W2IQ from Apia, Samoa,
    starting October 21st, for 6 days. Activity will be holiday style
    on 20 meters. QSL via WB2IQU.

    5Z, KENYA. Scott, WA5A, is once again active as 5Z4/WA5A from Ruaka
    until November 7th. Activity will be holiday style on 40/20/15 meters
    using mainly SSB. QSL via his home callsign.

    7Q, MALAWI. Susan, W7KFI, will be joining Don, K6ZO, to be active as
    7Q7M and 7Q6M, respectively, from Embangweni Mission Hospital, in Northern
    Malawi, late November for the CQWW DX CW Contest. Susan told OPDX that she
    will be there for 8 days (specific days were not mentioned). She also
    mentioned that Don will put up a 6 element 20 meter beam on top of 65 ft.
    tower while there, and hopes to build a world class contest station for
    future use. Activity will be on 160-10 meters, but they will concentrating
    on 20m (14036 kHz) and 40m (7036 kHz) outside the CQWW DX CW Contest
    (October 24-25th). Remember to look for them in the contest. QSL 7Q6M via
    K6ZO. QSL 7Q7M via Susan's instructions. ADDED NOTE: You may remember
    Susan, W7KFI, who is about 83, and was the Skipper of her own sailboat
    called "USSV DHARMA" stationed in Hawaii. She planned to activate Johnston
    Island (KH3) in 2011, but had engine problems and then some health issues.
    She is now living in Gulfport, Ms.

    A5, BHUTAN. Operators Zorro/JH1AJT (A5A), Martti/OH2BH (A52BH), Franz/
    DJ9ZB (A52ZB), Jin/JF1IST (A52IST) and Champ/E21EIC (A52C) will be active
    from Thimphu, Bhutan, between October 24-30th. Activity will be on 160-10
    meters. The main purpose for Zorro is to meet with the Foreign Ministry
    to continue discussions on outcomes and progress on the collaborative
    project for youth development program SEISA working for BOC. He will
    meet the official of the Ministry of Health, meet sports federations
    and will have meetings with BOC National Olympic committee. The team
    will also be on the CQWW DX SSB Contest (October 27-28th) signing as
    A5A and as a Multi-2 entry. QSL via JH1AJT. Before and after the contest
    Zorro JH1AJT/A5A and Jin JF1IST/A52IST will focus on the FT8 DXpedition
    mode using the following frequencies: 7056, 10131, 14090, 18095, 21091,
    24911 and 28091 kHz. Operators will operate with their own Bhutan call-

    Contest (October 27-28th) as a Multi-Multi entry. Operators mentioned are

    C6, BAHAMAS. Tim, C6ATH, a resident of Andros Island, will be in the USA
    for most of the rest of this year for cancer treatment. Look for him on the

    CR3, MADEIRA. Members of the Slovak Contest Group (OM8A Contest Team)
    will be active as CR3DX from Madeira Island during the CQWW DX SSB Contest
    (October 27-28th) as a Multi-Single/High-Power entry. QSL via OM2VL,

    IOTA NEWS..............
    AS-045. Members of the Korean Amateur Radio League will be active as
    HL0DOK from Ullung Island on October 20th, and depending on
    the weather from the Dok Islands between October 21-22nd.
    Both islands are IOTA AS-045. Activity will be on 80/40/30/
    20/2 meters using CW, SSB, FM and FT8. QSL via HL0DOK, by
    the Bureau or direct.

    AS-173. (Update) A group of VU operators are planning to activate Pamban
    Island (Dhanushkodi) as AT4DK between November 3-4th. The team,
    led by Madhu, VU3NPI, is calling themselves "Manic Monkeys",
    are planning to be active on 80-10 meters using CW, SSB and FT8.

    EU-143. Markus, DJ4EL, will be active as EA7/DJ4EL from Sancti Petri
    Island between October 19-24th. QSL via his home callsign. He

    EU-192. NEW IOTA!! A group of five Swedish operators, members of the
    Invoker Team <http://www.invokerteam.com/> will be active as
    8S2K from Kataja Island possibly late May or the first week
    of June 2019. Activity could possibly be sooner depending on
    the ice conditions and transportation. The group plans to
    have 4 stations active for 5 days using 200 watts and vertical
    antennas. Look for more details to be forthcoming.

    NA-004. Rick, K6VVA, will be active as K6VVA/KL7 from Endicott Island
    between 2200z, November 8th, and 1800z, November 11th. Activity
    will be primarily CW (possibly some SSB)on 40/30/20 meters,
    using a TS-480HX (200w) and Vertical w/16 sloping radials,
    plus backup radio, power supply, computer and antenna parts.

    NA-077. Eric, VA2IDX, will be active as VA2IDX/p from Anticosti Island
    between November 2-7th. Activity will be sporadic around 1500z
    and 2300z. Operations will be on 40/20 meters using QRP SSB

    JD1, OGASAWARA. Operators Koji/JI1LET, Takeshi/JA1UII, Masatoshi/JH1HHC
    and Hideo/JI1CRM will be active as JD1BOI, JD1BON, JD1BPH and JI1CRM/JD1,
    respectively, from Komagari, Chichijima Island (AS-031), between November
    22nd and December 7th. Activity will be on 160/80/40/30/20/17/15/12/10/6
    meters using CW, SSB, RTTY and FT8. QSL via their home callsigns, direct,

    T31EU from Kanton Island (OC-043) between February 16th and March 5th,

    T32, EAST KIRIBATI ISLANDS. Nobuaki, JA0JHQ, will be active as T32NH
    from Captain Cook Hotel on Kiritimati Island (OC-024) between December
    5-11th. Activity will be on 160-6 meters using CW and FT8. He also plans
    to be in the ARRL 10m Contest [December 8-9th] (CW, if possible SSB).
    Equipment is a TS-480HX w/200w into a MV or Vertical antenna. (Using
    Linear Amp is not permitted at Kiribati , because of the interference

    TC29, TURKEY (Special Event). Several Turkism ham radio clubs [ANARAD
    (YM2KW), ATRO (YM1KTR), TANGO ALFA (YM1KE) and TAMAD (YM1KAD)] will be
    on the air as TC29OCT between October 26-29th, to celebrate Turkey's
    anniversary of becoming a republic. Many people in Turkey celebrate
    "Republic Day" on October 29th, by attending performances and partici-
    pating in traditional processions with flags and musical bands. The
    Turkish Republic's founder Mustafa Kemal Ataturk proclaimed "Republic
    Day" as Turkey's most important holiday.

    TK, CORSICA. Look for "Team Charlie" (TeamC) to be active again as TK0C
    from Sant Ambroggio, Corsica, during the CQWW DX CW Contest (November
    24-25th) as a Multi-2 entry. QSL via S50C, direct, eQSL and LoTW. The

    TT8KO DXPEDITION NEWS. Last week we told you that Ken, LA7GIA, had his
    TT8KO operation shut-down by the national security police, and has since
    been waiting for his equipment to be inspected. This past week, Ken was
    planning to leave Chad on Thursday, October 18th. In the meantime, Ken
    was also told that he was still not allowed to disassemble the equipment
    until inspection was completed, everything must remain as is. Then on
    Friday, Ken posted the following on FaceBook: "Finally I got this working.
    No social media for 1 week. Last night I was informed that a police order
    has been issued preventing me from leaving TT, even w/o equipment. Status
    of my return flight has changed to "open". The Norwegian embassy and
    foreign ministry are now working on the issue. I get many emails every
    day from DXers around the world with kind words, it keeps the spirit up
    - thanks! Hotel staff also very supportive. Still waiting."

    V3, BELIZE. Victor, WB0TEV, has cancelled his V31VP operation between
    October 24-31st, for the CQWW DX SSB Contest (October 27-28th). He states,
    "I was advised by the station owner in Belize that the rent a shack equip-
    ment was damaged in a recent lightning storm. As a result I'm cancelling
    my trip down there. Hopefully things will be fixed by Feb 2019 when I
    hope to go down for WPX RTTY and possibly ARRL Int DX CW."

    VP6, PITCAIRN ISLAND. Word has it that operators Ned/AA7A, Nodir/EY8MM,
    Harumi/JR4OZR, Ralph/K0IR, Pat/K0PC, Craig/K9CT, Louis/N2TU, George/N4GRN,
    Arnold/N6HC, Glenn/W0GJ, Mike/W0VTT, Gregg/W6IZT, Hal/W8HC and Jerry/WB9Z
    will activate Pitcairn Island in October of 2019. The team will travel
    there by the way of RV Braveheart. This will be a two-week operation on
    all bands and all modes. Look for more details and an announcement of a
    DXpedition Web page in the coming days.

    VP6D DUCIE ISLAND DXPEDITION NEWS. The VP6D team arrived at Ducie Island
    (OC-182) on Friday, October 19th, and are now active until November 3rd.
    The first VP6D station hit the airwaves on October 20th, around 0418z on
    40 meters CW followed by a 20 meters SSB station Activity will be on
    160-10 meters using CW, SSB and various Digital modes which includes FT8.
    Suggested frequencies are:
    CW - 1826.5, 3523, 7010, 10105, 14023, 18069, 21023, 24891 and 28023
    SSB - 7090, 14185, 18130, 21285, 24955 and 28485
    RTTY - 7045, 10142, 14080, 18100, 21080, 24910 and 28080

    Listen for the operator's instructions. They will listen for U.S.
    Generals (only) on 14.280 and UP. They will listen for JA stations DOWN
    5-6 kHz on 160 m. On 160m their FT8 frequency for JA is 1908 kHz.
    The VP6D team will be using the DXA written Bob Schmieder, KK6EK,
    of Cordell Expeditions.
    By pointing your browser to <http://www.dxa3.org/vp6d/> DXA allows
    anyone with an ordinary browser to see VP6D activity in near real time.
    Within 60 seconds of your contact with VP6D, the browser page is auto-
    matically updated to show your callsign, this confirms that your contact
    is in the log (DXA reads the VP6D log). This process eliminates the need
    for duplicate contacts on the same band / mode and minimizes the confusion
    caused by pirates or other DX-peditions operating at the same time. Also,
    they will upload the log every day to the VP6D.com - Log Search tab. They
    will not use ClubLog and there is no Leaderboard. QSL via operators'

    XT2, BURKINA FASO (Reminder). Operators Peter/S54W, Janko/S57L, Robert/S58Y,
    Rado/S59ZZ and Tine/S50A will be active as XT2SZZ from Bobo Dioulasso between
    October 22-30th. Activity will be on various HF bands and 6 meters as
    well. The Slovenian team will also participate in the CQWW DX SSB Contest
    (October 27-28th) as a Multi-Single/Low-Power entry. QSL via S59ZZ.

    YS, EL SALVADOR (Update). Tom, KC0W, will be active as YS/KC0W from El
    Salvador sometime between February 16-22nd, 2019. Activity will be on
    80-6 meters using CW only. QSL via his home callsign. NO LoTW or NO
    Bureau.
