DAY-XENIA HAMVENTION WRAP-UP NEWS......... * During the Southwest Ohio DX Association (SWODXA) annual DX Dinner it was announced that the VK0EK Heard Island was awarded "DXpedition of the Year". Yes, there were a few bugs during their first run, but I am sure these will be corrected in the future. The major problems seem to be traffic flow, muddy flea market/parking areas and some complaints about the heat in the buildings. The vendor lay- outs in the buildings seemed to be sufficient. One of the big improve- ments was the selection of many different food vendors. Probably the low point of the HamVention was the rain which definitely hampered the field market area. Some individuals didn't even attempt to go to that area because of the mud. In all, the new venue was well attended, and most reports on the internet were very favorable. Your editor looks forward to seeing next year's HamVention. E2, THAILAND.
