P.S. If you watch it on YouTube, click the caption controls to translate the narrative from Ukrainian to English. Konstantin gives a great demo of the feature set.

I thought all the R&D was done in Dayton?

I bet DX Engineering will jump on this.

No, Mike Dishop has been working with Konstantin for over 2 years to make a TenTec version. I even had some input a few months ago :)

Well, Google's AI Search just confirmed it, so... either the AI is hallucinating, or it's real...

That makes sense. He claimed at dayton (see Youtube) that all the engineering and manufacturing was done here and he called out companies that used offshore contract manufacturing. Meanwhile the Ermak TT is designed in Ukraine and built in China, from what I understand.

Let me try to make it clear.
Ermak was a project done by Konstantine himself and boards manufactured in China and packaged as kits in the Ukraine and sent out 100 units.
Konstantine and I decided to do a BRAND NEW RADIO based om the code he had written. We made two more years of development together, him working from there and me here in Ohio.

He said he is sending out 100 of the new front panels to his people who had built Ermaks and this is the beta field test of our software and firmware. This is the video you saw. That video was never meant for anyone except the beta test team.

The PHOENIX uses our same jointly developed signal processor, a new front panel, a new cabinet from Ten Tec, new preselector, new PA / tuner from Ten Tec, different back panel etc. It is not an Ermak. It is not a repackaged Ermak. It is a Ten Tec using the same jointly developed signal processor. There will not be Ermak transceivers for sale. It is a Ten Tec. It is not built in China. It is built in Dayton in the new Ten Tec factory.

If you join the Phoenix club you can have a tour and see where your radio was built next Hamvention.

There will be information on the website. I am drop dead tired after hamvention and I am not exactly young. It will be up as soon as I can get to it. Thanks. My goal is Monday.

And he wrote the Linux software and designed the radio in Ukraine. It's all good, you should have just told us about the Ermak, not say it was all Ten-Tec inside and cast aspersions on other well-established and respected manufactures who make components in other countries (as is the case with the Phoenix). BTW the Ermak kits are $1200 euros.

Thank you for the positive contribution KC2IYG and reminding me of how many nice people there are in our hobby. . I will of course make it possible for you to join on line. Give me a little bit of time to get that web site arranged. Maybe we could do something like 2000 down and two 1K installments. What do you think would be a good payment plan? Thank you for your support of our goals and passion for the hobby. Best 73 from Mike, N8WFF

Just one note to W1MBB... fwiw, there's a huge difference between the original "Ermak" and the new code-name "Ermak TT".

Understood, I watched the video. Are you telling us that you're making the main board in your factory in Dayton?

Thanks for the clarification/information above. I watched the Hamvention interview, and it's nice to see a post from you without all the ranting;). Looking forward to the updated website and seeing the specs/pictures in print.

On another note, do you have any plans to develop an Alpha lineup of solid-state amps?

Certainly interesting but the demo video never showed it transmitting.

I'd want to know tons more about it (including all the TX specifications with test reports). Once listed with an FCC ID and compliance report and the ARRL Lab gets to test one, I'd be very interested. I don't need more receivers, but I would enjoy more transmitters.:)

Not sure I understand your question. I was just giving you information. I have nothing to do professionally with Ten-Tec.

What part about the radio is NOT designed in the Ukraine is unclear? The software is written by Konstantine with my steering. It is new software. Does it matter if it is written in Ohio, Timbuctoo, or Mars? It is a TEN TEC project and a TEN TEC Radio. Companies use contract engineering all the time. If Konstantine is working for TEN TEC, or on behalf of Ten Tec, does it matter where he is sitting? Technically speaking, he gave me all the Ermak IP to make sure his legacy continued but that is a completely different story. I'm not withholding anything from anyone. I don't owe ANY explanation of what we do here. Are you a partner or a stockholder? What we do and how it is done is none of anyones business. Ten Tec NEVER told people what they were doing and how they were doing it. We developed a new radio however we did it and introduced it and sold it to customers.

I don't know what you are talking about with casting aspirations.

The Phoenix is a Ten Tec PA. Ten Tec Low pass filter, Ten Tec T/R system. Ten Tec preselector, Ten Tec antenna routing and control matrix, Ten Tec specific front panel PCB Ten Tec display carrier. And A Ten Tec DSP system with software jointly developed by Konstantine and me. The cabinet is roughly the same size at 9 x 4, but not the same depth. Can I explain it any better? I've explained this three or four times now. Everyone, PLEASE stop posting misleading information.

The Phoenix is 100% assembled in Dayton from US and foreign components. Circuit boards are assembled HERE IN house. Production metal and paint is HERE in DAYTON.

When the Ermak was available it did not have 2 A/D converters., FPGAs, expensive screens, expensive new touch screen, etc. 1200 euros in 2017 in terms of GOLD pricing would be double or more today. Then add 130% tariff on anything from China. It also was a box of partially assembled stuff. I am giving you a radio for 3750 that is near cost. E and F, charge you TWO THOUSAND MORE for their full-blown product. Instead of being excited we brought you a GAME CHANGER, you are trying to divert attention from the accomplishment.

Would those of you with some sanity reading this give me an "Aye Mike" and just shut these rumprs down? I know some of you really want to know what is going on at Ten Tec but it is really hard to come here and give you one and one time and interact with you. A lot of you know me personally and know I'm not a villain. I've helped a lot of you guys out over the years. Somebody catch my back please. I don't have time for this. I've got to get the web site up and get radios shipping to actual customers who love what we do.

For the last time, the PHOENIX is a BRAND NEW TEN TEC INSIDE AND OUT. IT IS MADE COMPLETELY IN DAYTON, OH AT MY FACTORY THAT I OWN.
