I have had obd2 codes that appear with check engine light ONLY WHEN TRANSMITTING.
They go away and do not reappear after a couple of drive cycles with no use of HF.
It only happens on 20 meters .
    Not on 40 80 or 10.

The last one was a LDE code.
My friend at gas station checked it free and found no problem.

He says he sees random codes appear sometimes and never sees them return or they do and a bad part or such is found.

As I said only on 20 meters .

Time to wrap all the wiring in tin foil :D

    What model automobile ?

Some trucks have a computer near the rear end. Some cars have a computer in the trunk.

Best not to route coax or power near the data wire bundle.

Sounds like RF is getting into the wiring harness and sending false data to the computer. Try moving your coax or antenna and see if that helps. Might be a good idea to find out where the major wire "freeways" are in your car and avoid them.

After paying attention to routing, consider placing toroid chokes on both ends of the coax, as well as the power and control lines at the radio end to reduce Common Mode RFI.
