The Nevada State Amateur Radio Conference will be held in Las Vegas April 29 through May 1, 2016. For many years it was held in Reno now it will alternate . It will be hosted by the Las Vegas Radio Amateur Club with participation by other Las Vegas clubs. This is the first Hamfest in Las Vegas Since SAROC in the 1980s. Tailgating, training sessions, license testing, exhibit hall, banquet and entertainment among other things. More information to follow as it develops.
Actually there was an attempt at a ham convention post-SAROC, although it did take place in the mid-80's. I think it was called Ham-West. The organizers ran it for just 2 years and lost a bundle. Good luck to this one, maybe it'll succeed.
Thanks for the good wishes. So far virtually all of the speaker and tech session slots have been filled. Gordon West will be a featured speaker as will the new President of the League. I will be teaching a class "Lightning Theory and Grounding" which has been featured at both APCO International and IWCE conferences. There will be a tailgate section so bring your saleable goodies.
