    Mr. Norman M. McKnight, 80, of Mohawk, NY passed away peacefully on January 29, 2019 surrounded by his family. Born on September 9, 1938 to Norman and Marion (Millar) McKnight, He was a graduate of the Wilbur H. Lynch High School Class of 1956 and later he received his Associates Degree in Electronics at the Hudson Valley Technical Institute in 1958.



    Norman was employed by UNIVAC Corporation in Utica as an Electrical Technician; PAR Micro Systems in New Hartford as Manager of Test Engineering; later Norman worked as a Manager of Quality Assurance, where he was responsible for the quality procedures and inspection of quality products for many companies including; Hamilton Digital; Shape Incorporated of Biddeford, Maine; Bijur Manufacturing in Bennington, VT; Sony Corporation in Gloversville a Division of MCA Records; last employed as a Cost Accountant for the Herkimer ARC.

    Norman retired from the Air National Guard of Schenectady, NY ; and was a member of and served as Treasurer for the Masonic Lodge#796 Dolgeville; Windfield Masonic Lodge # 581 and the Amsterdam Lodge #84 F&AM. He served as Second Vice President for the Trustee's at the Masonic Library at the Masonic Care Community Hospital in Utica. He was also a Trustee for the Livingting Library of Grand Lodge of the State of New York. He also belonged to the Fort Herkimer Amature Radio Association. A member of the Iroquois Chapter 236 Royal Arch Masons. Utica Commander #3 Nights Temple, Valley of Utica Scottish Rights 3 Second degree. Former District Deputy Grand Master and Staff Officer, and he also belonged to the Shriners, and enjoyed Hunting and Fishing.

    On September 17, 1960 he was united in marriage to Carolyn (Yostmeyer) McKnight.

    Survivors include two sons, Norman H. McKnight, and fiancé Tami A. Grygiel of Mohawk, NY and William J. McKnight and his wife Shellie of Richfield Springs, NY; and two grandsons, Brandon J. McKnight, and fiancé Sarah Provenzano of Rochester and Jordan W, McKnight of Denver, CO.

    Funeral Services will take place Tuesday February 5,2019 at 11 AM at Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Homes, 171 Guy Park Ave, Amsterdam, NY 12010. Interment will follow in the Fairview Cemetery, Amsterdam, New York. Relatives and Friends are invited and may call on Monday February 4, 2019 from 4:00PM until 7:00PM at the Funeral Home. A Masonic Service will take place at 6 PM that evening at the Funeral Home.

    In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Mohawk Valley Hospice and Palliative Care Inc; 1656 Champlin Avenue, Utica, NY 13502.
