If you're a ham in a unrestricted home, why don't you have a tower ?
For me, right now, it's just a money commitment. Just not ready to spend the $$$$ required to put one up.
Pretty simple economics.
Maybe in 2019 after the dust settles from the "big move" last year...
Just my 2/100 of a buck
I do have one, a nice 50ft Universal Tower for my Mosley beam...
I know other guys without CC&R restrictions, but they won't or can't commit that much cash to ham radio... It's the old saying, "Different Strokes for Different Folks"...
Happy New Year.....
After four decades of putting up with less than ideal antennas, I finally did it. It still took around ten years after buying my property when everything came together. As it turned out, I happened upon some incredible deals and generous friends.
With about three in four properties NOT in a HOA, any ham who REALLY wants a tower should be able to make it happen.
Don't need or want a tower. I'm having a lot of fun with a Hustler 6BTV ground mounted vertical.
Just keep your mother-in-law away from it
1. Proximity to airport
3. Lots of trees
4. Moving at some point.
No shortcomings to compensate for.
