    Noah Craven Malpass, 89, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, January 14, 2023 in the presence of his family. Craven was born on August 17, 1933 to the late W.H. Malpass, Sr. and Katie Cashwell Malpass. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his seven siblings: W.H. Malpass, Jr., Karl Malpass, Avon Malpass, Juanita M. Ratcliffe, Catherine M. Pilkington, Gwendolyn M. Laing and Donald Malpass.
    Craven was a 1952 graduate of Goldsboro High School. At the age of 15, Craven traveled by bus alone to Raleigh to take the exam to become a licensed ham radio operator. After passing the exam, Craven enjoyed more than 70 years of conversations with ham buddies all over the world.
    Craven proudly served his country in the United States Air Force as a radio mechanic. It was this service that prepared him for a career in communications and the starting of his business, Malpass Communications Company.
    The family will receive friends on Friday, January 20, 2023 from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home followed by a service to celebrate Craven's life at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel with Pastor Donnie Oates officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.

    Craven is survived by his wife of 41 years, Peggy B. Malpass; daughters, Debi Holloman and husband, Marc and Beth Oates and husband, Mike; step-daughter, Donna Banks and husband, Thad; step-son, Ken Perry and wife, Laurie; grandchildren, Kristin Holloman-Noe and husband, Patrick Noe, Chris Oates and fiancée, Krissy Henderson, and Kimberly Oates Williams and husband, Matt; step grandchildren, Perry Banks and wife, Rianne and Tyson Banks and wife, Rebecca; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews he loved very much.

    Flowers are welcome or memorials may be given in his memory to 3HC, 2402 Wayne Memorial Drive, Goldsboro, NC 27534 or the charity of one's choice.
