NewsWest for Sunday 18th October 2020 is the History of Amateur Radio edition. This week we have a silent key tribute for John VK6HZ/VK6XX, and then we’ll be delving into the history of Amateur Radio, with some extracts from the Australian Amateur Radio Magazine in 1950, and a newspaper item from 1913 about the establishment of early ship to shore radio in Western Australia.

There’s news from the regulator, the ACMA, some local news, some feedback from NewsWest listeners, and more, on NewsWest.

The NewsWest team this week is Mike VK6KMs, Jeff VK6FJLM, Roy VK6XV and I’m Bob VK6POP the NewsWest producer.
