We have noted a reduction in AR activity over the last weeks as the year draws to a close but Newswest will continue as usual over the festive period. This weeks theme is new amateurs but we also round up of activities at the RAOTC and Ham College. Important news about the QSL bureau and amateur radio has had a great piece of publicity through a segment on a public broadcaster and we bring you a taster of the full interview. We have information about a local landfall of a golden globe yachtsman who is an avid ham and notices about a potential satellite amateur radio transceiver failure as well as a piece of satire that must be listened to with more than a pinch of salt.
