Says the guy who lives on Vieques. ;)

We’ve had some close calls, but we see the storms coming days in advance. It was worse living in central Texas with the sudden tornadoes. At least we have a road to the mainland!

Definitely! When I lived in Southern MS and NE FL the key was evacuate early! California with the earthquakes and wildfires is much more nerve wracking. Can't wait to get back to the Southeast!

Naw, we build appropriately and just hunker down. FL and the whole SE coast for that matter still builds with sticks and boards. Been to Holly Beach, LA lately?

All 3 buildings are concrete block. Older concrete block. When drilling for Tapcons, it took some real effort. Not like modern blocks that you can drill with a dull pencil.

Ed, I would advise you not to serve alcohol at the cookout to avoid potential liability issues.:)

Sounds like a perfect situation and good neighbors Ed. Vy happy for you!
I'll be there for the cookout and cooler party....
Maybe you should smoke pot instead of serve alcohol or just don't restrain anyone and force them to drink... :p
Hate to see you get sued by a new neighbor...

Heck, only medical MJ is legal here.
Fact: Meth use is down in states that have legalized recreational MJ.
I am job hunting down here & even for a store clerk at Circle K, they drug test.
Executive & management jobs don't even mention it.
