I think you are correct but it looks very realistic, in the photos at least. One thing I have noticed is there is no information about this radio, not even preliminary and it's supposed to be released in what, two months? You would think Kenwood would at least have a brochure or something on their website.

Kenwood's website is always behind the curve. It's like they're a Big Multinational Corporation or somethin'!

    Maybe - or maybe not.

It will be very interesting to see what the reality of the TS-890S really is. Does it live up to the numbers? Is it easy to use? What's the actual street price? Etc.

So I guess it's all about the Trapezoid that makes or breaks a radio.

    T R A P E Z O I D is more important than true blue SDR radio.

The things one learns reading the Zed.

Me, I am getting the new Yeasu. I don't care about no stinking configuration of Trapezoids.

It looks nice, but the projected price is WAY out of my budget, unless I can trade two TS-570S(G)'s for it.. It is priced too close to the TS-990.

One site I saw estimates street price around 4K.

Maybe there will be some breaks from that at Christmas.

I don't really think that this unit was designed for your budget. :)

If the performance is there, what difference does the internal architecture make? Analog or SDR?

The price of a new radio always decreases over the year after its release (if you can wait).
