It looks like Icom is getting ready to release a new super compact 5 Watt, multi-band HT to compete with the Yaesu VX-5R...

Icom is now advertising a new, 4 band, 5 Watt HT. It covers 50, 144 and 440 MHz, plus an added Bonus Band - 220 MHz. This new radio looks very similar to the Yaesu VX-5R. The actual size is 2.5"W x 3.4"H x 1.15"D.

This radio features 5 Watts output on 50, 144 and 440 MHz, but the 220 MHz bonus band is limited to 100 mW. 500 memory channels are available. Wide band receive. A JIS-4 weather resistant, die-cast aluminum case and chassis.
