    Good Evening All

    I am very new to Ham radios I have not yet purchased one as I would like to get my license first. I live in Albuquerque New Mexico does anyone know of a club near me I have looked online and can not find any

    While you are at the arrl site,find books and gear.
    Order the technician license manual,read and study...
    Go to "getting your license" and chose exam practice and practice.

    Here on QRZ, you can take practice tests, after studying, to help identify what areas you need to bone up on.

    Dont use 14.313, 7.200, or 75 meters (may use 75 if you have enough whiskey)

    I agree on the first two, but there is generally nothing wrong with most of 75m. Sure some of the groups that hang out there don't care too much for drop-ins (especially unamplified stations, as the band is rather noisy a lot of time and 100W will only work on good nights), but many do, and some are even inviting. I have also had plenty of good QSOs just calling CQ on 75m. In fact, I think we need MORE people calling CQ on 75m (and everywhere else).

    I agree more CQ in 75m. Strictly a social comment on a certain frequency normally used by Mr. Wizards of wonderment.
