Just about everyone has tested a 9 volt battery by mouth.

There is a member of my 4x4 club who sustained serious burns to his mouth from a Li Ion battery. No, he didn't bite the battery. He was holding a small flashlight in his teeth to work on something and at that moment its battery happened to short out.

Having opened some batteries as a kid, I would never put those chemical cocktails in my mouth... though I can imagine today's kids trying to open a lithium cell.
