The Drake 2-NT uses a fixed-value neutralizing capacitor, 6 pF for the Sylvania 6HF5 and 10 pF for the GE. Naturally, my stash includes only RCA and Tung-Sol tubes. Does anybody have the correct values for the RCA and Tung-Sol tubes?

    Just trying to be lazy.

    Thanks in advance.

Replace the neutralizing capacitor with an 0.8-12pf /1250v cap from Surplus Sales of Nebraska.

Tune and load up the rig on the highest frequency you operate on. Then disconnect the High Voltage from the RF choke and the screen voltage. Power up, key up and monitor the voltage at the antenna ( it should be low around a volt or so). Adjust the piston trimmer for minimum voltage. Reconnect the high voltage and screen voltage and have fun with it.
