    hello guys,

I have a Yaesu FT-757GX and I need to find this cable or the instructions on how to make one. I like the radio, but due to my visual impairment, I am unable to tell exactly where I am. Being able to interface this with an accessible control program would certainly make my life easier. Does anyone happen to have one of these laying around or have the schematics for one?

DUE to the AGE of this Yaesu Radio (first generation, 1980s CAT control):

The FT-757 has a very primitive CAT interface, which can be used only to command the radio.
    (Change VFOs, Frequency, enable/disable functions).

Unfortunately, this early CAT interface :
1- Can NOT change the mode (it has a rotary switch)
2- CAN NOT report information back (the CAT is unidirectional, NOT bi-directional)
3- As a consequence of #2 if you make a change in the front panel, it goes completely unnoticed

That link is a bit confusing.

    It references Kenwood commands.

That radio is limited, but maybe can do more than HRD will let it, if you apply some tweaks.

    Have Fun.

I am aware of how primate the interface is. I need to be able to place the radio on a target frequency and the only way appears to be by computer command. Thus, I need to find this cable. If you (or anyone) knows where I can get one, or the schematics to build one) I would appreciate hearing from you.

I can be reached via my email (as listed in my profile.). PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE I have a need for one of these.

Yaesu CAT interfaces to allow remote control of your transceiver via your PC.
Original Yaesu cables sold were: Yaesu CT-62 and FIF-232 equivalent.

Yaesu CAT (USB or RS-232 for remote computer control) and audio interfaces (DSP sound card)
provide full access to digital radio modes, such as PSK31

Yaesu CAT and Icom CI-V computer control interface cabling

Javier Albinarrate, LU8AJA has information (enhanced) to address FT-757 shortcomings.
You can contact him in Argentina.

COMMERCIAL CAT CABLES routinely sold on eBay, such as this reseller (no endorsement implied)
