The NEAR-Fest website reads like a manifesto... orders and instructions. Pfft.

 

I went this afternoon, it was a pretty solid market, I thought. Lots of folks shopping, and plenty of space. You had to wander a bit around the fairgrounds to find some of the sellers. I will say that I saw almost zero purchases during the hour or so I was walking the market. I bought a 10m hamstick from one of the three or four commercial vendors (sans HRO).

I haven’t been to Deerfield since 2000 so I can’t compare it - overall it was a market I’d go back to. It was about a 2-hour drive each way for me, but I did two POTA activations in NH to make it worth my time.

 

I heard it was pretty good… some hams brought along a fire ladder truck and hoisted a repeater antenna on the top.

 

I had other plans with my wife and kid so I couldn't make it. I'm looking forward to the spring NEAR-fest!
