    They are going for silly prices on eBay! I could see maybe 30 to 60 bucks for a nice one, but recently some have sold
    in the 100 dollar plus range.

    I agree $100 is too much, I gave $50 for mine at ham fest and am very happy with it.

    There are a couple of them offered on eBay right now. Bids aren't too high yet. Worth a shot. People rag on eBay, but I find smokin' deals on keys there all the time.

    $100 is to much for a corroded WWII J-38 key, of which at least a bazillion were made. Nobody bats an eye at that. But a WWII Navy Flameproof in good condition is well worth it. The quality and action are wonderful.

    Sorry, my navy flame-proof straight key will only become available at my estate sale. It's in the top three of my favorite straight keys. (The other two are a begali and a kent.) I hope you find one, good luck! Once you find one, you'll know why. It feels right!
