With the weather here being terrible I decided to "play" in NAQP SSB for just a couple of hours using only a vertical and 100 watts. I was surprised to get 100 Q's mostly S & P. Even 10 and 15 had some openings though the majority of my Q's were on 20 and 40. Surprised that my 100 watts and vertical netted several QSOs with KP2 and KP4 on 40 meters. Hadn't done any contesting in awhile so it was fun while it lasted.

I also made several contacts all around the US and Canada. I was able to work 70% of the stations on 40 watts into my G5RV. I played around on 20 a little yesterday and had fun there too. For me, 20 meters was "the band" for the Western part of the US. Colorado, Nevada, Wyoming, California, all seemed to be easy to work on 20, but more difficult to work on 40 for whatever reason. On 40 meters I was racking up New Jersey, New York, Florida, Illinois pretty easy too.

It "almost" wasn't a challenge. If I could hear someone, I normally could contact them.
