    Sherry Deanne Spalding
    March 06, 1947 - December 06, 2017
Sherry “Deanne” (Dubois) Spalding, 70, Martinsville, was surrounded by her family as she passed into Heaven on Wednesday, December 6, 2017 at the IU Hospital in Bloomington. She was the wife of William ‘Bill’” Spalding. They married on December 29, 2001.

Born in Bloomington, Indiana, on Thursday, March 6, 1947, Deanne was the daughter of the late Mary Elaine (Droll) Dubois and Clement DeGrath Dubois. Her Father passed away tragically in a work related accident just 20 short days after her birth. Her mother later married the late Clotele “Hugh” Chambers who raised her as his own and she adored. Mary and Hugh later gave birth to Deanne’s two sisters, Donna Mason (husband Charlie) and Karen Chambers both of Martinsville.

Deanne graduated in 1966 from Martinsville High School. Her first marriage was to the late John Martin. They were stationed in Germany for several years where Deanne gave birth to her three sons, Brian, Jeff, and Wade. After her first marriage ended, she returned to Martinsville to raise her children and eventually meet her current husband, Bill. Deanne enjoyed working and spent several years as a territory manager for American States Insurance. She finished her career working as an office manager for Sherrill’s Drywall in Monrovia.

Deanne had many passions. She spent many years working for the Civil Defense. She enjoyed clogging and square dancing. She was a member of Hoosier Harvest Church and served on the Greeting Ministry Team. She could often be found at the front doors of HHC welcoming all who entered with a smile or hug. She enjoyed art and recently opened “Sister Sister” Art Studio with her sister, Donna Mason, at the Art Sanctuary in Martinsville. Most precious to Deanne was her love for Jesus, family, friends, and treasured pets. She was especially proud of each and every one of her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, Bill. Her children and grandchildren, Brian Martin and his wife (Tracy Denney) and their three children (David, Breanna, and Chelsea); Jeff Martin and his two children (Kacy Key and husband Rom and Lindsey Schmidt and husband Peter); Wade Martin and his wife (Traci Lyle) and their three children (Jessica, Ethan, and Addison). She is also survived by her husband’s children and grandchildren; William Spalding and his wife (Michelle) and their two children (Jocelyn and Sean); Tony Spalding and his son Asher; Shannon Spalding and her three children (Maggie, Coral, and Tori). She is also survived by her biological daughter, Lisa DeBaets.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clement Dubois and Hugh and Mary Chambers.

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 9, 2017 at the Hoosier Harvest Church, 4085 Leonard Road, Martinsville, Indiana, with Rev. Chris Page officiating. Visitation will be prior to the service starting at 11:00 a.m.

Entombment will be 3:30 p.m. on Saturday at Nebo Memorial Park.
