Norman Barney , N8AJO, died April 26, 2014 from injuries he received years earlier in a head on collision while on vacation with his wife driving a pickup truck pulling a camper. He became severely disabled, for the last few years of his life, when a two meter mobile radio which was sitting on the seat next to him became a projectile in the crash and struck him in the head. If not for that one injury there would have been no other ill effect from the crash. The lone occupant in the other small vehicle died at the scene when she lost control and crossed the median and into on coming traffic causing the head on collision. Norm was an employee of the Kettering Medical Center in Kettering, Ohio and a very active member of the Kettering Medical Center Amateur Radio Club.
