I would certainly press it hard with the local police department you mentioned, providing them with e-mail transcripts, etc., and let them know you are filing a complaint against him via the IFCC also.

Indicate to them the issue about fraud and theft repeatedly. Perhaps the more heat he gets, the more he will return the money or radio, or whatever.

If these low lifes think that no one can reach out and touch them, they will be back on this website and others posting equipment for sale, taking equipment without paying, etc.

This needs to stop and this jerk could be a good example of catching up to the theif!

GL and all the best. I hope you are completely successful!

It is AMAZING what you can find out from Google.

Turns out that N7DRM is involved in public service and emergency communications, associated with a Sherriff's department!!! If I had info on him being a ripoff artist, and particularly if I had a contact at a local police department who would confirm that he's under some form of investigation, I would contact the Sherriff's department he's organized with, and also the local public service groups for which he serves as a net manager. They may be able to help track him down and they might also remove him from their roster of active members. If it is made clear to him that ripping someone off leads to his ex-communications from groups he has fun with, he may stop the nonsense.

Try these links (user your browser's "find on page" function to look for his callsign N7DRM).

I will be listening for that call around here on the local repeaters. I used to live about 5 miles from McMinnville, now I'm about 25 miles away. I read on the website that MattBeers provided that he is the net manager of a net in Eugene. I will try and tune into that and see if I can get a hold of him (if he's still around). Not sure that my little 1/4 wave antenna will reach a Eugene system, but it's worth a try. I e-mailed the original poster about N7DRM that I'd be happy to help out if I could, but never heard back from him. Oh well, let me know if there's anything a local guy can do.

    N7DRM is listed at http://www.hamstershack.com.

I would hope that all involved with this would post an update REVIEW on N7DRM so that we can get a clear picture of what is happening, and to help any hams in the future in dealing (or not delaing with) this guy.

As W5KRM put it "I have asked repeatedly that a spreadsheet listing or some sort of database be established to retain callsigns, alias, etc., so that when someone wants to see if there is any reports out on an individual being a scam and ripp off artist, they can readily find something (if something exists).  "

    Well ... it's here ...

If some of you were smart enough to take away the period (.) at the end of the URL I posted earlier, thanks ... this is not a SPAM thing ... my mistake added the period at the end.

Please post your follow up reviews there concerning N7DRM for all to see.

I listened to the District 4 net last night (was able to pick it up) - the net manager was NOT N7DRM, so either that page listed above is outdated or he is no longer the net manager...

Anyway, I tried, would have tried contact if it was him for you guys.
