    Nice! I saw that article in ER magazine - it's not the complete construction article but more of a very elaborate overview with links to schematics and such.

    When did you build it? Very nicely done!

    Any chance you could do a video and post it so we could hear it play and operate?

    What? Get out! What a beauty. Love me some toobs. My original novice TX in the early '60s had a 6146 final. It was built in an 8x10x3" aluminum chassis with the three tubes (rectifier, oscillator, final) sticking up proudly emitting warmth and cheer. Bad would be when the plate on the 6146 would glow from being miss-tuned.

    Thanks for nice comments. I started designing in mid-winter. Was operational in mid summer but continued to fiddle, even up until couple of days ago. I have a Power Point presentation and pfd of schematics if anyone is interested. John.
