On September 18, 2019, at 22:41 I fired my tiny Pixie, a CW only, 250 mW, fixed crystal frequency of 7030 kHz transceiver, powered by a 12 VDC old and discarded battery used for the burglar alarm at my home. The antenna is a halfwave sloper dipole for the 40m band.

It was a real surprise and exciting moment to receive a reply to my CQ from LU4XAP, Fernando, Rio Gallegos Province of Santa Cruz in Southern Patagonia, Argentina (Distance: 328 mi, 2138 km). He reported my sigs 229, with some QRM but he later commented my signals were enough strong to the minimal power I was using. I sent him a 339. The QSO lasted a couple of minutes, but has been QSLed two ways and is my latest DX record on QRPp, an amazing mode of DXing and ham radio. Love CW, I look forward to better condx in the future, but constancy and enthusiasm is key for great moments, producing high adrenaline in your blood and pride of being a ham radio operator.

Keep firing your QRP rigs and don't let the solder cool down!
