Mount antenna on HOOD of truck?

    Over the years, and on many different vehicles, I have mounted an assortment of both HF and VHF/UHF mobile antennas on the hood with fairly good results. I always used commercially made brackets obtained from our local CB shop to mount the antennas so as not to mess up the sheet metal. Just a tip from a guy who encountered just about every kind of road condition, and that is to place your longest antenna on the left hand side which makes it easier to clear overhanging branches. Also, use a quick connect for fast removal. Have fun!
