    Motorola Solutions GM1280 model was marketed for the
    European, Middle Eastern, and African (EMEA) markets.

    I am aware for people who “bricked” their radios with Garbage USB Cables,
    so saving a few dollars (cheap bargain bin buys) was not worth it.

    As noted, the Motorola Solutions GM 1280 is an EMEA Region Mobile Radio.

    The GM 1280 was part of Motorola Solutions Waris series of mobile radios,
    that included these other EMEA Mobile models:

    GM340 ; GM360 ; GM380 ;
    GM640 (MPT) ; GM660 (MPT) ;
    GM1280 (MPT)
    WARIS specific Internet site by Bryan Fields, W9CR (St.Pete, Florida) may be useful,
    BUT majority of comments are focused on North American Waris models.

    In North America, the WARIS series was also known as the PRO-fessional series.
    Those North American Mobile models included:

    CDM750 ; CDM1250 ; CDM1550 ; CDM1550-LS+
